We have a blog!

December 29, 2010

Hellooo there everyone and welcome to our first ever blog post!

We’re both home for Christmas at the moment and enjoying this foody, lazy and mulled wine filled festive time but EXCITED about all the plans we have in the pipleline for 2011.

2010′s been brilliant with the release of our first album Northern Quarter and a great launch at Kro Bar in Manchester, followed by a big yoyo-ing session up and down the country promoting the album to lots of you lovely people.  (2500 miles without a car radio….we now know all the worlds capital cities. Kind of.)  We had the BEST time, met so many cool people along the way and had many a laugh.  We also had a brilliant trip over to Toulouse for a gig in March – our first gig abroad.  We heart the French and can’t wait to go back!

The release of the album coincided with our graduation from the RNCM in Manchester, resulting in one of the most madly busy and sleep deprived weeks of our lives, but also one of the best with the album being a sort of review of the past four brilliant years we spent there. Aww sob!

We had the opportunity to cover a Manchester classic for BBC Radio Manchester’s 40th birthday celebrations.  The station asked 40 Manchester bands to cover 40 Manchester songs, one for every year the station’s been running.  We were given the year 1992 and Morrissey’s “You’re the One for Me, Fatty”.  It was a great laugh to arrange and we’re really chuffed with the result.  You can listen to it here:

Also, in case you’re interested, here is the original version:

Crikey, this is starting to sound like my Dad’s yearly family round up letter that gets sent out with the crimbo cards!

We hope you enjoy following the adventures of Twelfth Day!  Hope to see you at a gig somewhere in 2011!

TD Love and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
